Christmas is Coming.

The signs of the season are here: Christmas trees, Christmas lights, Christmas parties, Christmas sales, and even Christmas ships.

This past weekend, I went to a Christmas Party: The Flanders Extended Family Christmas Party to be exact. It was at my friend Stasi's house. She and her roommies had their Christmas morning last Saturday to celebrate together before they all left for the holidays. So on their "Christmas Eve" we had a party. We played games, decorated cookies, and watched Elf. By the end of the night, all of us were really wanting to stay and open presents the next morning with the Flanders crew!

I was introduced to a game I have never played before called "Nouns in a Bag". Quite an interesting game - you write down 5 nouns each on a seperate piece of paper. They can be as decriptive as you like. For instance: Red Kitchen Aide Mixer or pecan crusted chicken. Then they all go into a bag. Each team goes through 3 rounds. The first round someone gets up and graps a stack of nouns out of the bag. They go through each one using words and actions (all except the noun) to get their team to guess what is on the card. Once everyone on each team has gone the second round begins. In the second round, you are only allowed to use words - which can be very hard for some people. Finally, the thrid round requires you to use only actions. By this time it does not take much to get your team to guess - since most of the cards have been read through at least once. This is such a fun party game because it generates a lot of laughter. I have to say I have not laughed that hard in a long time.

It was a very enjoyable evening. Now, I'd like to introduce to you the winning team: The Pink Tangerines! Woo-Hoo!
