Here are some pics of our new garden on our porch. Cherry tomatoes, basil, and some flowers to brighten things up. We got great deals at a local nursery and might go back to get some more fun plants! I can't wait until we have a real yard and a real garden. :)
Do everything without complaining or arguing, so that you may become blameless and pure, children of God without fault in a crooked and depraved generation, in which you shine like stars in the universe as you hold out the word of life - in order that I may boast on the day of Christ that I did not run or labor for nothing. - Phillipians 2:14-16

Weekend Update
Wow, we had a lot going on this weekend. Well, it felt like a lot come Sunday night when we were ready for bed!
Chris ended up having to work on Saturday (bummer) but I did get caught up on laundry and cleaning as well as washing my car. I think it's been a year since I've washed it and although it's clean, the scratches and dents now shine brightly in the sunshine! Oh well, it's still a pretty car.
Saturday night at church the EA mission team presented a bit about their spring break trip. It was really encouraging to hear all they were able to do and how encouraged they were by what happened there. I really hope there are more trips to EA and other places in the future of Crossview because I really want to go. The bonding that happens on a mission trip, especially overseas, is just so great and I found myself jealous of the team that they are so close now! I want that in my own life. It made me realize that I need to work harder to maintain my friendships instead of waiting for people to initiate with me. But I want to feel included too and enjoy people approaching me to ask to do something so it's a balance I guess. Plus working at nights makes it hard. Hopefully it will be better during the summer when all my teacher friends are off!! I'm almost as excited as they are about school coming to an end.
Sunday we helped our friend deal with some stuff and ended up spending most of the day with her. It ended with a great BBQ in her backyard enjoying the gorgeous weather that made up our weekend! We also went to a local nursery where Chris had a gift certificate that he won when we bought our Christmas tree. We were able to buy 3 big pots, 2 cherry tomato plants, a basil plant and some pretty flowers to start a "garden" on our porch! I hope it turns out well. We might go back and get some more flowers since we still have about $20 left to spend.
Turned out to be a great weekend! And today I just noticed that they are getting the pool ready to open in our complex. Summer is on the way. :)

Easter Weekend
Chris and I had a great Easter weekend. Chris has good Friday off (first paid holiday!) and so I took the weekend off too (paid as well).
Friday night we went to the great city of Walla Walla. We stopped at three wineries to do some wine tasting and replenished our wine supply. Probably didn't need to buy a bottle of wine at each place but we did! I have a hard time saying no and tasting without buying....
We went out to dinner at this great restaurant called MillCreek Brewpub. I had one of their specials - pulled pork tacos - which were delicious! It was really fun just to get away for a night and go somewhere that was close by that didn't require a ton of driving time.
Saturday morning after we got up we wandered around downtown Walla Walla for awhile before heading back home. There are some great shops and stores to explore and we'll definitely have to go back soon. We came back home and headed to a wonderful church service for Easter. It was so great to worship and remember all that Jesus has done for us and be reminded of what He's called us to do for Him.
Easter Sunday we headed to Prosser to have dinner with the family. We had a good time eating great food and hanging out and talking. What a great weekend! Pictures to come soon. :)

MS Walk
Last Saturday I participated in an MS Walk at Columbia Park. I heard about it through work and my co-worker was going to do it too but at the last minute she couldn't find a babysitter.
Then I found out my friend was walking with some of her co-workers so I decided to sign up and do it too.
It was a 4 mile walk through Columbia Park along the river in Kennewick. We basically walked 2 miles one way then turned around and walked back.
After we were done they had refreshments and a band playing. It was really a lot of fun and I'm glad I did it. Next year I plan on getting Chris to walk too.
Here are some photos from the day:

Finally Friday!
I was inspired by a friends post to update you on my busy week in the form of Facebook status updates. Because it is fun to talk about yourself in the third person - as long as it doesn't become a permanent habit. So here goes....
Carla is psyching herself up for 84 check-ins at work today. To give you reference for how many that is, our hotel only has 120 rooms.
Carla is so excited for a REAL weekend but realizing is will be extremely busy because of all the stuff I want and need to do!
Carla is dreading going to the grocery store on the weekend but glad that Chris likes shopping with her.
Carla is doing an MS walk tomorrow. I heard about it through work and decided to finally register this last Wednesday. Hopefully the weather is nice.
Carla is excited that Chris gets paid in advance with his new job. Kind of a strange concept but we didn't have to wait until April 15th for his first paycheck. It came March 31st!!
Carla was encouraged at work this week by an extremely kind comment a guest passed along about her. The guest even remembered her name.
Carla is thinking there is a huge curve ball coming her way on LOST because the show is actually starting to make some sense to her now....
Carla is trying to brainstorm good crockpot meals I can make for Chris so he can have a nice dinner while I'm at work. What's your favorite?
Carla still likes status updates on Facebook but not how they look the same as wall posts.
Carla hopes you have a good weekend and can make sense of her week through status updates.
