I finally went out and took some pictures of the blossoming trees around our apartment complex. They are so beautiful and I hope to have lots of blossoming tress in our future yard in many colors. Also, you'll notice that Tinkerbell did not want to miss out on the fun! :)
Do everything without complaining or arguing, so that you may become blameless and pure, children of God without fault in a crooked and depraved generation, in which you shine like stars in the universe as you hold out the word of life - in order that I may boast on the day of Christ that I did not run or labor for nothing. - Phillipians 2:14-16

A few little updates...
I worked from 7-3am today (a first in a LONG time) and I do it again tomorrow so I'm trying to keep awake now so I can sleep tonight. I enjoy working in the morning but it's awfully hard to get up at 6am after months of waking up around 9am.
There are a lot of things going on around here that I want to share:
1. We are looking for a new place to live. We have decided to stick with our plan and not get tempted into looking for a house because we really can't afford it right now. We plan to pay off our debts and then start saving for a downpayment. So for now, we are looking into duplexes, condos, and rental houses. So far a few potentials - and hopefully a place soon as our lease is up at the end of April!
2. On the job front: Chris is still searching and has a couple prospects on the horizon but it is too early to know anything yet. Once we know, believe me I'll post.
3. Tinkerbell, after many trials and practices, has finally learned to shake! Except now, she gets so excited for a treat that she does all her tricks in a row instead of waiting for the command. So we are trying to have her do them at odd times so she'll learn to wait for the command. Today after our walk, I took her on the jungle gym in the park next to our complex. We went down a short slide and while she was scared at first she loved it and we went down 2 more times. I think she will make a great agility dog as she learns to be obedient and confident!
4. I am loving spring. I recently went outside and took some pictures of the flowering trees around our complex. I'm excited to post some once they are uploaded and edited. It's fun to be experimenting with our new camera.
5. Hopefully, if it's not to windy and doesn't take to long, we are going to get our portable BBQ set up tonight for some chicken. I am excited! I love that BBQ flavor. :)
Have a great weekend!

What a Weekend!
This weekend was so nice. I enjoyed both Saturday & Sunday completely off! It was so nice since the past few weeks I've had to work on Saturday evening.
Yesterday we went geocaching with our good friends Grant & Mindy. We found the best caches! The first one was pretty easy - just hidden under a large rock. But the second was out in the middle of sagebrush. Mindy spotted something shiny sticking up out of a piece of dead sagebrush. Some sort of bolt. So we started unscrewing the sagebrush and thought the cache was in it somehow. But we got it off and that still didn't work.
Finally, Chris figured out that the bolt went though the sagebrush and started pulling onto it. It was screwed into a lid, which revealed a hole with the cache in it. Intense! Someone had to dig the hole, reinforce it, and screw a piece of sagebrush to the lid in order to conceal it but also help you find it. Crazy!
We found 4 other small ones and enjoyed a great lunch at Ice Harbor Brewery on Clover Island in Kennewick. It was a beautiful day! And we got to go to Saturday night church, which I love! I missed being there.
Today was a day of cleaning. Pretty much everything in our house needed dusting, vacuuming, scrubbing, or some form of cleansing! Plus we did about 4 loads of laundry. Feels good to have all that accomplished but now I am tired! Time to relax and enjoy the rest of this weekend. I see ice cream in our future.

Badger Hike
Sunday afternoon my friend Hailey and I hiked up Badger Mountain here in the Tri-Cities. I had never hiked it before but was always interested. Yes I know it isn't exactly a "mountain" but it's the best we've got unless we drive to the Blue Mountains or the Cascades! So we take what we can get.
I'll be honest, it was pretty strenuous for me because I am out of shape! But I loved the views as we kept going higher and higher. I was just getting a good breathing workout trying to keep enough air in my lungs.
It was perfect weather to hike it. Just a tad chilly, cloudy but bright, and a little breezy now and then to cool you down.
And there were a ton of people. I was so surprised at all the different people we saw. Kids, parents with babies, high schoolers, even a pretty elderly man who we saw as we were heading down - I hope he made it to the top! And lots of dogs. We took Tinkerbell, which was fun, but she was so overwhelmed with the number of people and other dogs that it was more almost more work just to keep up with her or to keep her going sometimes.
Here are some pics of the view from the top:
Looking towards West Richland and the Hanford reservation:

Richland, West Pasco and the Columbia River:

South Richland, Kennewick, and most of Pasco looking towards the Blue Mountains and Walla Walla:

LOST: Dr. Linus
SPOILER ALERT: Do not read if you have not seen the latest episode of LOST. You can probably skip this post too if you do not watch LOST or do not care! Haha!
I usually do not post about this show because I don't know how many of my blogger friends actually watch and are interested in hearing about it.
However, Tuesday's episode was probably the best of the season so far, in my opinion. Since I started watching LOST in season 3 (and then later backtracked to seasons 1 &2 ) I have greatly disliked Ben Linus. He's manipulative, deceptive, a real jerk sometimes, and just plain creepy.
I did feel sorry for his childhood experience as he was greatly resented by his father for the fact his mother died during childbirth. So his birthday was not the happiest of occasions growing up. But last night it was so good to see some form of redemption happening for him. Especially after the position he's fallen from.
On the island, Ben was shown as the leader of the Others, appointed by Jacob, to lead them in the way they should go. But when the Losties showed up and challenged his people that all changed. Ben was willing to go to great lengths to preserve himself without much though for people around him. It even caused the death of his daughter Alex which devastated him more then he realized at the time.
It was ironic that in the flash sideways he ends up being a history teacher telling his class about Napoleon being exiled to the island and being stripped of his power. Exactly what happened to Ben on the island time-line.
Although we still see that he does have some selfish tendencies in the off-island time-line. He was willing to blackmail his principal just to gain the respect he deserved but in the end showed great character by taking the high road and looking out for someone other then himself. A great moment if you ask me.
Another great moment on the island was when he chose NOT to follow Flocke, who helped him escape from digging his own grave and offered to put him back in charge of the island. Instead he explains himself ti Iliana and decides to stick with the people on the beach. I hope this proves to be a good decision for him - well unless Charles Widmore finds him!
All in all, a great episode and we actually got a few questions answered. It was also interesting to note that Ben mentions being on the island during the flash-sideways. He was actually a part of the DHARMA initiative with his father but they left at some point and now have a better relationship. So maybe this isn't the epilogue we thought it was? Who knows! Cant' wait until next week.

Random Thoughts for a Tuesday...
*It currently looks like we have carpet in our apartment due to our dog Tinkerbell shedding. I think she might drop enough hair to create a second dog.
*Yesterday I caught my pinkie fingernail on my jeans pockets (somehow) and partially ripped the nail. OUCH!
*Chris successfully changed the oil in both our cars this weekend. Take that Jiffy Lube! He was much faster and didn't charge so much. :)
*I am eagerly awaiting the day we can have a garden. Chris was drooling over gardening books in Costco this weekend. I know his garden will be amazing someday.
*I am putting off balancing our checkbook by writing these thoughts. Time to get to work...

Relief & Peace
Today at the Nest, we talked about Galatians Chapter 1. In his letter to the churches of Galatia, Paul talks about pleasing Christ instead of pleasing people. What a simple concept that is so hard for me to put into practice.
It talks about being a slave to Christ instead of people. The irnoy is that when you're a slave to people you are never free but when you are a slave to Christ, it brings freedom.
I love thinking that my life could be full of peace and freedom just by following Christ wholeheartedly and realizing that if people are pleased at the same time that is a blessing. But not something I should strive for.
I tend to worry a lot about what people think of me. Do they think I am a good friend, a good wife, a good Christ follower? But if I am following Christ and focusing on him all those ares I worry about will improve.
So this week I am going to practice following Christ alone and not pleasing people first. It might be hard to say no to some things if I need to but I know it will be beneficial in the long run.

Another Weekend Gone Already...
Wow, it's Tuesday already. Wasn't it just Friday and we were looking forward to the weekend?
At any rate we had a fun weekend. We made a quick trip over to Pullman to watch the Cougars play the UW Huskies. It was a good game - unfortunately the Cougs lost - but they could have won it if it hadn't have been for poor shooting in the first half and a couple bad calls in the second half.
But it was so fun to be in a sold out Beasley Coliseum with so many Coug fans together cheering on our team.
Although it was a quick trip it was very relaxing and fun! We love Pullman and miss living there. Who knows, maybe someday we'll be back. You never know!
Now time to get ready for our women's bible study tomorrow - the Nest. We have just started a Beth Moore study and it is a amazing. I am so excited for what it will hold for everyone.
Have a great week!
