Marley & Me

Chris and I went to see Marley & Me yesterday. We had some a gift certificate for two movie tickets given to us for Christmas and we both wanted to see the movie. If you have ever had a pet and you go see this movie - be prepared - you will cry at the end. There were only about 10 people watching it with us (since it was the middle of the day) but there were no dry eyes when we walked out.
We did enjoy the movie however although it some parts I thought it went kind of slow and there wasn't enough focus on Marley. But I have read the book and some parts are probably hard to translate to a movie - since they're not very exciting!

My only gripe was not with the movie but with the theater. For the first time in my life, I was stressed out about buying refreshments! We saw a poster advertising combos and though this might be good since we only had $10 to spend - plenty I thought and combos are usually less expensive. But the combo for two medium drinks and a large popcorn cost $17!!!! For $3 more you could go to Applebee's and get two dinners! What the heck!
We finally settled on a large popcorn for $7 and it turned out to be twice as big as I thought it was because they didn't have the sizes displayed anywhere. I felt like such a pig and didn't even have any extra money for even a little bag of Skittles! I hate to do it but next time I will probably smuggle food in. When they charge this much, they have to expect it happens.
