I can remember exactly where I was when I heard about the attacks on the World Trade Center and Pentagon on 9/11/01. It was so unreal to go to work that day and hear the reports on the radio as things progressed. For the first time I realized how fragile our country really is - that war is real and can be waged anywhere.
It is certainly a defining moment for my generation as events such as Pearl Harbor are for older generations.
I'm not much of a political spokesperson or activist but I hope that America always remembers how much we were united after that day in grieving for those lost and working to put our country back together. It didn't matter if you were Democrat, Republican or otherwise - on that day, we were all citizens of the United States of America. I hope that is something we never forget.
