Relief & Peace

Today at the Nest, we talked about Galatians Chapter 1. In his letter to the churches of Galatia, Paul talks about pleasing Christ instead of pleasing people. What a simple concept that is so hard for me to put into practice.

It talks about being a slave to Christ instead of people. The irnoy is that when you're a slave to people you are never free but when you are a slave to Christ, it brings freedom.

I love thinking that my life could be full of peace and freedom just by following Christ wholeheartedly and realizing that if people are pleased at the same time that is a blessing. But not something I should strive for.

I tend to worry a lot about what people think of me. Do they think I am a good friend, a good wife, a good Christ follower? But if I am following Christ and focusing on him all those ares I worry about will improve.

So this week I am going to practice following Christ alone and not pleasing people first. It might be hard to say no to some things if I need to but I know it will be beneficial in the long run.
