11 Months

Today Benjamin is 11 months. I find myself thinking back on how fast time really flies....especially since he was born. Today I was even thinking back to when Chris and I were newlyweds and how much has gone on since then. We have built a commuity here, seen friends get married, have 1 kid, now 2 or 3 kids. It's very fun and makes me excited for what the future holds.

At 11 months, Benjamin has 3 teeth (possibly working on his fourth), loves to pull himself up and clear everything off the coffee table (seems to be his mission in life to have nothing on any high surface), and is very smiley and happy when we sees people he knows. It has been fun to see his personality come out more and more. He is cautious when exploring new things or areas of the house but knows where we wants to go. For instance if he sees the baby gate is not up to keep him out of the kitchen he beelines for that room in order to play with  magnets on the fridge, get into the dog's water-dish, and try to see if I will let him "go" down the stairs to the backdoor.

Naps and sleeping generally go smooth and he usually takes a ocuple 2 hour naps during the day and sleeps about 11-12 hours at night. Sometimes naps don't always go that well but we are amazed and how he can be relaxed and mellow when he's up past his bedtime if we are somewhere with new activity.

He loves to see his grandparents and I cherish the time he gets to see his great grandma as well. It really is nice that they all live so close.

I'm thinking of his first birthday and probably going to invite some family and close friends over for a monkey themed small party. Of course the fun part will be seeing how into his cake he is. Let's just hope his naps go smoothly that day so he is his happy little self. Pictures to come later.
