This past weekend we had a mini-vacation. We were able to leave Friday, spend a quick night in Portland and then go to the beach for 3 days! It was really nice. Although the weather was a little chilly and quite rainy it's what you should expect from the Oregon Coast in November.
We stopped and ate cheese and ice cream at the Tillamook Cheese Factory and then checked out the air museum in Tillamook. That was really neat and pretty simple really. Just a bunch of planes parked inside a giant blimp hangar. You walk around and look at the different descriptions of the planes. Up close & personal they are HUGE - especially the F14 Tomcat. It was really neat up close and personal.
We stayed south of Lincoln City in a great place we found a few years ago. They accept pets and let you and your pet stay in a nice oceanfront room for a very affordable price. Most of the other pet friendly hotels were either not oceanfront or didn't let you stay in an oceanfront room with a pet.
Sunday morning we woke up to rain, rain, and more rain. A perfect excuse to go shopping at the outlet stores in Lincoln City. They did not have as great as deals as we wanted but we got a few things and even saw some people we knew for home!
The next day we checked out a lighthouse near Newport and explored there and Depoe Bay for the day. Our evenings were spent hanging out in our hotel room reading, playing games, watching movies, and watching The Food Network (the reason we don't have cable - it would be on constantly along with ESPN)!
Overall it was a great trip and we enjoyed our time away but as always it went by too fast. And now we were on the downward slope to the holiday season the new year and soon BABY! Wow.
