Tales from the Looney Bin

It's been another busy week at work. Lots of business travelers during the week and lots of teams starting tonight and lasting through the weekend.

I have a couple tidbits to share with you. Sometimes I just can't believe people. Seriously!

Exhibit A:

We were pretty busy this afternoon with a big softball tournament + car show in the Tri-Cities this weekend. At one point almost an entire softball team was in the lobby while their parents were checking in. And they had all their stuff. Our GM was helping me out and she had an older couple checking in. Their conversation went like this:
Guest: I can't believe you don't tell your customers that they're going to have to deal with this (referring to the softball team) during their stay.
GM: (jokingly & trying to lighten the mood) Well, how would we tell everyone?
Guest: No, I'm serious! I'm going to have to deal with this noise all weekend.
GM: Well sir, if you have any noise problems please give the front desk a call and we will take care of it.
Guest: Well, you'd be the first hotel that did!
And he walked away - without having any idea who he just talked to.

Exhibit B:

This one is not so much funny as it is unbelievable. About 8PM or so, a lady came to the desk and asked me if I knew there was a dog tied up to one of our tress outside. She said it had no food or water and was just tied up on a lead laying down. WHAT?!?
So I went to investigate and sure enough there he was. Tied to a tree just laying there. In the shade but it was still probably 75 or 80 even in the shade. And he had no water!! So I brought him some water and I don't know if he was older or just tired but he barely got up to sniff the water and just laid back down again.
Question 1: Why would you bring your dog with you on a trip without first checking to see if your hotel accepts pets? (which we don't)
Question 2: Why would you leave your dog outside in the heat with no food or water?
Question 3: Why would you leave your dog alone outside in a strange city without thinking someone would very easily take him or call animal control because he's tied to a tree outside of a hotel?
Hopefully the owners will think better next time.

Wow, I'm ready for the weekend!

What did you do about the dog?

I would have trained him to bark and set him up outside the room of the person who was worried about all the noise.
