Spring Reading

I recently discovered the library in Richland! I had been wanting to go in for a while to get my library card and I finally did it. It's so nice to find new books to live without spending money for them - of course I might go out and buy the ones I really like!

Here are the latest three I just finished reading:

"A Big Little Life" by Dean Koontz:
What a great book! It's the story of Trixie a dog that Dean and his wife received from Canine Companions for Independence because she had to retire early due to elbow surgery. She turns into a wonderful dog for them and shows how animals really affect our lives. I finished the last couple chapters at work and had to try hard not to cry because of course the dog doesn't live forever. But overall it was a great story and a great read for any dog lover.

"Maid Marian: by Elsa Watson:
Elsa Watson lives in Seattle and this is a great novel that is a retelling of the story of Robin Hood and Maid Marian. In this story, Maid Marian parents have died and the Queen of England marries her off to a young boy who dies mysteriously. The boys mother then tries to claim Marian's family lands. Maid Marian goes on a quest to gain back her lands with the help of Robin Hood and along the way they fall in love.

"Leota's Garden" by Francine Rivers:
There is not one book form Francine Rivers I have read that I did not absolutely love. She has such a way of telling stories that captivate me and I cannot stop reading. This book tells of how God brings reconciliation to a family who has suffered for many years without ever knowing the truth about their relationships. It was heart wrenching but so good to read and know that we need God to reveal truth in our lives and relationships every day.

I recently found the library too! Over Christmas break I went in and got my library card (after a year or more of saying I would). I haven't checked out very many books, and once I returned a book I hadn't even started yet b/c it was stressing me out. I'm really excited for this summer and going there more often! We should go sometime together! That would be fun. :-)
