Creative Kitchen Tip

This past Thursday I went to the Taste of Home cooking school held at the TRAC facility in Pasco. I went with my mom, mother-in-law, and another lady visiting my MIL from Texas.

At the cooking school, they basically demonstrate 7-8 recipes featured in the Taste of Home magazine, give kitchen tips, and give away a lot of great door prizes. There were also local vendors there and local restaurants selling their food. Plus you get a goody bag just for coming with lots of fun coupons and recipes.

My favorite kitchen tip from the night:

If you don't have a salad spinner don't fear! You can still dry your fresh lettuce. Just wash it, shake out the excess water, and put it in a clean pillowcase! Then twirl the pillowcase around your head and the fabric will soak up the excess moisture from the lettuce. You end up with clean rinsed lettuce and a wet pillowcase. And probably some crazy looks from your family. But doesn't it sound like fun. :)
