Long Weekend: Seattle

Our second day of our long weekend we headed off to Seattle to enjoy friends, family, and a Seattle Mariner's baseball game. Neither of us had been to a game in a few years so we were very excited to go!

The drive was really good and we met up with our friend Michelle in downtown Seattle before the game. She was my roommate at WSU. It was so good to see her and catch up for a few minutes while walking around downtown dodging tourists! Every shop was so crowded and it was hard to find a place to just sit down but we had fun.

After hanging out with Michelle we headed over to the game. Chris found a great deal from a website called StubHub so we sat just between homeplate and the dugout. Normally very expensive tickets became quite affordable! The Mariner's lost but it was still a good game. I love going to live sporting events. Football, baseball, and hockey are all so much fun with a crowd of people around you cheering together for your team. That being said, I can't wait for the WSU football game this weekend.

Sunday we spent the morning at IKEA! This was very fun. We purchased a new coffee table to match our side tables bought from our neighbors in Pullman and we also got an area rug for our living room. It is so nice to not have so much floor space to sweep and to have a cozy rug on cold mornings. It really makes our apartment feel cozier.

After shopping we met my cousin and family for lunch before heading home. It was great to see them and we got to meet her new twin baby girls. They were so small (born August 12th) and really adorable. It was good to see her boys too - they are always entertaining.
I didn't realize until I uploaded this pictures that you can't see the girls' faces. You'll just have to take my word for it. They are cute!

Finally it was time to head home after a stop to get Tinkerbell from my parents and then all we did was drop her off at home and head out to a small group BBQ. We were tired but it was fun to hang out with friends. Chris went swimming, we sat around a campfire (well a fire pit) and then played Rockband.

Overall, it was a great weekend. We both really needed it to feel refreshed and ready for fall.

Sounds like fun! I'd go coo coo in an Ikea store, so I am staying far away for now... :)
