Infestation

I love flowers....but I really hate bugs. They just lie in wait for you to plant flowers and vegetables and then come out in full force to feast away. We had earwigs at our old place (geez even typing the name makes me shudder) but it is like an infestation at our new place. They hang out on the outside of the front and back doors, congregate under flower pots and have taken a great liking to my freshly planted basil. If I don't find a solution quick I will have no basil pesto this summer! Accepting any advice you might have regarding these creepy crawlies! And maybe a few basil tips as well. It gets a lot of afternoon sun but doesn't seem to enjoy it very much. Sigh...I guess I didn't inherit my grandma's green thumb.
